"Surprisingly decent tracking updates"
I’ll admit, the tracking was actually easy to follow. The emails showed up when they were supposed to for the most part, and I usually had a good idea of where my package was. One update came in a little later than I would’ve liked, but it didn’t cause much confusion.

"Nice scent, just a little too smoky for me"
I do like the scent, and it burns evenly, so no complaints there. But in a small room, common sense says a little smoke can feel like a lot fast, and that was the case for me. It’s not awful or unusable, just heavier than I was expecting. I still use it now and then with a window cracked, but I wish the listing made the smoke level a bit clearer

I was in a chill mood when I tried these, and the smell was genuinely nice at first. But the sticks burned down way faster than I expected, which kind of killed the vibe. A little disappointing, honestly.

"Not worth the hassle for a gift"
I bought this thinking it would make an easy gift, but when it arrived it looked cheap. I ended up feeling awkward giving it, and it was annoying to have to put in extra effort to make it seem more presentable.

"Everything I wanted was out of stock"
I was disappointed because the stuff I actually wanted to buy wasn’t available. I kept checking the site and even looked through my order emails/receipt info to make sure I hadn’t missed anything, but nope, everything I wanted was just out of stock.

"There are just so many nice scents..."
There are just so many nice scents to pick from. Like, every time I look, I end up spotting something different. One minute I think I know what I want, then another fragrance catches my attention. It’s kind of fun, honestly. I always find something new to try

At first, I felt good about the return process because my return was accepted without any trouble. But that first impression didn’t really hold up once I had to wait so long for the refund to come through. It did eventually arrive, just much later than I expected

"Nice scent, but the sticks are frustratingly fragile"
I’m kind of torn on these. The smell is actually really nice, which is why I wanted to like them more, but the sticks are way too delicate. A couple broke just from me taking them out of the box, and a few didn’t burn evenly either. So it’s like, the incense itself seems decent, but using it ended up being more annoying than relaxing. For the price, I expected them to be a little sturdier. Not awful, just disappointing.

"Nice incense, but I noticed a few trade-offs"
I had a decent experience overall. The incense smells really nice, and ordering from the site was straightforward enough. That said, I did start noticing a bit of a pattern: the products seem solid, but the shipping took longer than I expected, and the pricing feels a little all over the place depending on what you’re looking at. Not a bad experience, just not quite perfect.

"Order was right, no issues"
I ordered a few incense boxes from nipponkodo.com, and everything came just like I chose it. The scents, sizes, and quantities were all correct, so you don’t have to second-guess whether they got the order right.
I’m giving it 4 stars because the packing could’ve been a little tidier, but nothing was damaged or missing. Overall, it was a easy order and you get exactly what you picked

"I’ve tried a few of these sticks..."
I’ve tried a few of these sticks now, and most of them do smell cleaner than the cheap incense I used to buy. They don’t have that harsh, super chemical smell, which I really appreciate. The ingredients seem better too. That said, one of the scents was a bit too strong for me and kind of took over the room, so that stuck out more than I expected. Overall I’m happy with them, but I’d be a little careful if you’re sensitive to stronger smells.

"Checkout was such a hassle"
So... I tried to order some incense, but the checkout page kept loading forever and then randomly rejected my card without explaining why. I had to start the whole process over twice, and by that point I just gave up. it wasn’t worth the hassle.

"Literally quick help from customer service"
I had a small issue with my order, so I emailed them not really expecting to hear back anytime soon. They literally got back to me the same day and helped sort everything out without making it a hassle. Super easy experience, and I really appreciated it. I’d definitely order from Nippon Kodo again.

"I was ready to grab a few..."
I was ready to grab a few incense items, but once I got to checkout and saw the shipping, I had to pause. Reading between the lines, it just felt like the total wasn’t really worth it anymore since the shipping was almost as much as the stuff I wanted to buy. I ended up backing out because it felt like a bad deal. I’d definitely be more likely to order if they had a cheaper shipping option.

"Reordering incense is so easy with the subscription"
I really like having the subscription because it makes reordering my incense super easy. Like I said, it’s handy not having to remember to place an order every time. I just wish making edits to the subscription was a little easier, like I said, but overall it’s been really convenient.

"Something seemed off about the smell"
I’m not saying it definitely wasn’t real, but the incense just didn’t smell right to me. It was weak and had this slightly fake scent, especially compared to what I’m used to. Makes me wonder a bit what I actually received

"I’m not really sure what happened with this..."
I’m not really sure what happened with this one, but it burned super unevenly and the ash kept clumping up. Then it would just fall all over the place?? Kind of a messy and annoying experience overall.
